Anne Banning Community House

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is sponsoring an event there at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 as part of its Industry Partner Table Top Expo.

You’ll get an opportunity to view the building on St. Andrews Place in east Hollywood, which was constructed specifically for the Assistance League to support its work.

I will talk about the history of the Community House, its brilliant and groundbreaking Los Angeles architect, and some of the famous Hollywood stars of another era who volunteered at the house for the league. Darrell Schmitt of ASID will give a presentation on exciting plans for a Community House renovation, which is being designed by architect Russel Tyner.

The event is open to the public, but RSVPs are required by contacting the ASID LA office at asidoffice@asidla.org.
