Join me at the enchanting Adamson House in Malibu where I will be giving the first lecture and tour at the historic landmark’s brand new “Beyond the Gates: Discovery Tours” series.

I will be talking on Spanish Colonial Revival Architecture and leading a more in-depth tour of the beautiful Malibu home than is provided to the general public.

Adamson tilesAs many of you know, the Adamson House is an enchanting example of Spanish Colonial Revival, but it’s perhaps best known for its spectacular Malibu Potteries tile work. Located on Malibu Lagoon, the historic home boasts an exotic mix of Spanish and Moorish influences and displays not only decorative tiles, but also one-of-a-kind craftsmanship including hand-carved doors, hand-painted frescoes, molded ceilings, distinctive cast ironwork and lead-framed bottle glass windows. There’s a rich history of the site and the house itself to be told, as well.

The new Discovery Tours series is being launched to commemorate the Adamson House 85th and California State Parks’ 150th birthdays, making this a special invitation I received to open this series.
