I’ll bet you didn’t know I turned into Snow White. But ever since I moved into my new and enchanting Storybook Style house in the Wilshire Vista neighborhood, I’m channeling my inner princess side.
At the same time – paradoxically – I’m channeling my witchy side because the house also conjures fanciful images of sorceresses. (Most who know me are not surprised by either…)
The 4-bedroom, 3-bath house, built in 1926, is a dream, with its huge living room with high, beamed ceiling; shingle roof: Batchelder fireplace, featuring the work of the famous 1920s tile maker; and beautiful rose garden in the front. It’s so wonderfully quirky with some of the floors a little off kilter (like me) and wonky doors.
I’m having murals painted on some of the ceilings and walls, based on Castle Coch in the Wales. The murals will look very William Morris with woodland creatures and lush botanical patterns.
The house is so idiosyncratic, it’s so me. I couldn’t have found a more perfect home!
All my best to you,
Eleanor
