I’m excited to announce that my dear friend and interior designer Ian Patrick and I have formed a new consulting service, Schrader-Patrick Historic Design Resources.
This service is intended to assist historic preservationists, the entertainment industry and real estate agents who need research or training in historically accurate information and guidance on architecture and design.
For example, a homeowner, house museum or preservationist turns to us when they want to ensure that a building’s exterior or interior, or both, are restored in an authentic manner.
Film and television production companies seek our services when creating sets or exteriors that they want to be historically accurate.
For Realtors, we teach them how to identify architectural styles so they can properly market the properties and even stage them accurately – or at least in the spirit of the style. An educated real estate agent has a better chance of selling a home when he or she knows its history and the details of its architecture.
